Requirements Engineering Fundamentals
A Study Guide for the Certified Professional for Requirements Engineering Exam - Foundation Level – IREB compliant
Description
The ideal preparation book for the certification exam "Certified Professional for Requirements En-gineering" of the IREB. Conform to the IREB CPRE Foundation Level Syllabus 2.1
The "International Requirements Engineering Board" (IREB e.V.) was founded in 2007. It is composed of independent, internationally recognized experts from industry, consulting, research and education. The board members have worked together to develop a syllabus for the field of requirements engineering and a certificate which is based on it, the "Certified Professional for Requirements Engineering" (CPRE).
The goal is to achieve a standardization of basic and advanced training in requirements engineering on a high level of quality and thus ultimately a vast improvement of the daily requirements engineering practice.
Professional requirements engineering contributes significantly to eliminating mistakes in analysis. It defines a systematical way to move from the project idea to project goals and finally to a complete set of requirements. In addition to requirements, quality criteria are defined which must be met by each single requirement but also by the complete requirements document.
On the one hand you can use this book for self-study to train specifically for the certification exam. On the other hand it can be used as a supplement for one of the exam preparation courses offered by training providers.
The "Foundation Level" certificate confirms in writing that the person holding it is familiar with the context of requirements engineering and able to apply the basic techniques and methods of requirements engineering. Please have a look at the official IREB website (http://www.certified-re.de/en) for further information about the certification standard.
The first edition of the English book covers the entire basic knowledge necessary for the exam of the English syllabus for CPRE Foundation Level (version 2.1).
In practice, requirements engineering tasks become more and more complex. In order to ensure a high level of knowledge and training, the International Requirements Engineering Board (IREB) worked out the training concept “Certified Professional for Requirements Engineering” which de-fines a requirements engineer’s practical skills on different training levels. The book covers the dif-ferent subjects of the curriculum for the “Certified Professional for Requirements Engineering” (CPRE) defined by the International Requirements Engineering Board (IREB). It supports its read-ers in preparing for the test to achieve the “Foundation Level” of the CPRE.
